Authority/Permit Process
The permit process for limited regulation carriers (including luxury limousines) involves submitting a permit application through the online permit portal. It is important to completely, and accurately, fill out the permit application and include all requested information, including Colorado Secretary of State documentation and vehicle inspections (must be completed within 20 days for new permits, 180 days for renewal permits). The permit process will also involve your insurance company filing a copy of a required commercial motor vehicle liability policy on your behalf, through the online insurance portal. The filing cost for a limited regulation carrier application is $515.00. The purchase of vehicle stamps ($51.00/each) will also be required.
