The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is committed to informing and engaging the public in the matters before the Commission, and values perspectives from impacted community members, which is critical in decision-making. The PUC invites the public to provide public comment, participate in informational and stakeholder meetings, and engagement opportunities. The PUC announces upcoming opportunities each month, which can also be found on the PUC Calendar, and can be found here.

Upcoming Public Hearings include:

Proposed Rulemaking Amending Clean Heat Plan Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets, Proceeding No. 25R-0309G 
The PUC will host a public comment hearing on setting future greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for gas utilities. The legislature, specifically, at 
§ 40-3.2-108(10), C.R.S., set a deadline of Dec. 1, 2025, for the PUC to set the target for gas utility clean heat plans for 2035, in consultation with the Air Pollution Control Division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Proposed Amendments to Rail Rules Implementing HB 25-1110, Proceeding No. 25R-0325R
An Administrative Law Judge will host a public comment hearing on proposed changes to the crossing maintenance cost allocation. Learn more about this proceeding at https://puc.colorado.gov/puc-home/rail-transit/rail-safety-rulemaking.

Proposed Amendments to RTD Rail Fixed Guideway Rules Implementing SB25-052, Proceeding No. 25R-0330R
The Administrative Law Judge will host a public comment hearing on proposed changes to the confidentiality rule of investigation reports for RTD Rail Fixed Guideway systems from SB 25-052.

9-1-1 Services Enterprise Board Meeting
The PUC 9-1-1 Enterprise Board holds meetings every two weeks on Wednesdays 

Monthly Commission Hearing Public Comment Opportunity: 
The Commission accepts in person and virtual public comment during the Commission's 2nd weekly meeting of the month (i.e. the 2nd Wednesday). The PUC holds formal meetings at 9 AM every Wednesday of the month, except for holidays. All meetings are streamed on the PUC’s YouTube page.

  • When: Wednesday, Sept. 10, 9 AM
  • Registration in advance is encouraged, but not required, for virtual and in person public comment. The registration link will be posted the Friday before the hearing and can be accessed from the PUC Calendar

Please note: Comments may not be about any matter currently before the commission, which includes any topic on the agenda for that meeting and comments specific to any currently pending proceeding.
