The Transportation Section of the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) regulates several transportation industries to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and reasonably-priced transportation services consistent with the economic, environmental, and social values of our state.
The PUC regulates six carrier types, which can be explored below.
- Common (i.e. taxis, sightseeing, shuttle, and charter)
- Contract (private carriers)
- Household Goods Carriers (movers)
- Limited Regulation and Large Market Taxi Carriers (i.e. luxury limousines, scenic tour vehicles)
- Towing
- Transportation Network Companies, or TNCs (i.e. Lyft, Uber).
